What Goes Into a Septic System Installation

A septic system installation is more than digging a hole and dropping in a tank. There are several steps involved, and getting each one right is what determines how well your system performs over time.

It starts with a soil profile test to determine what type of system your property can support. From there, we evaluate the site layout, plan the placement, and handle the permit coordination with the state. Once everything is approved, we excavate for the tank, set it in place, and install the lateral lines that distribute the effluent into the drain field. After installation, the system is tested and inspected before we consider the job complete.

Every step is handled by our team. You are not managing multiple contractors or chasing down paperwork on your own.

Conventional vs. Aerobic Systems

A conventional septic system won't work on every property. Soil conditions, lot size, and proximity to water sources all play a role in what Oklahoma DEQ will approve for your land.

Conventional systems use a tank and drain field to treat and disperse wastewater naturally through the soil. They are common on larger rural properties with the right soil conditions.

Aerobic systems use oxygen and a treatment process to produce cleaner effluent, which makes them a better fit for smaller lots or properties where soil conditions don't support a conventional drain field. They require a bit more maintenance but are a reliable long-term solution when installed correctly.

We install both. If you are not sure which one your property needs, we can help you figure that out during the site evaluation. Learn more on our Aerobic Septic Systems page.

State Licensed and Permit Ready

Septic system installation in Oklahoma requires licensing and permits, and

cutting corners on either one can cause serious problems down the road.

At Standard Construction and Environmental , we hold Septic and Sewer Contractor License #802, covering subsurface systems, lagoon construction, and aerobic spray systems.

We also hold Soil Profiler License #046 and Septage Transporter License #482. We know what Oklahoma DEQ requires and we install every system to meet those standards.

We handle the permit process on our end so you do not have to figure it out yourself.

From the initial soil profile to the final inspection, we make sure everything is documented and done by the book.
